Metadata Updates
- Added metadata support for Cast, Screenwriters, Producers and Studio in the Metadata Editor, Online Searches and Metadata Presets.
- The air date of episodes will now be saved when importing and tagging TV Shows.
- Added new feature to retag videos that were misidentified during import: select misidentified videos on the main screen in VideoDrive and click the little blue tag button.
- High-Definition videos will now be labeled HD in iTunes.
- Refreshed look when presenting video metadata.
- You can now copy images from the browser as video artwork by clicking the Copy Browser button.
- Added option to remove all existing metadata in video files.
- Improved reliability of the subtitle presence status on the online metadata window.
- TV Show descriptions found online will now be saved in the Series Description metadata field and show up on iOS devices under the Details button (Apple does not show this field in iTunes or tvOS).
- New algorithm to determine genres, with support for more iTunes TV Show categories including reality TV, nonfiction, sports and fitness.
- Removed the option to add videos as unchecked or not new.
Hot Folder updates
- Improved Hot Folder reliability when adding lots of files to a Hot Folder and subfolders.
- Added Hot Folder status information to the Queue tab of Preferences.
- When creating a new Hot Folder, all video files in it will queued.
- All folders added to a Hot folder, will become a Hot Folder as well.
- Disabling hot folders now shows a list of Hot Folders to choose from.
- Disabling hot folders will no longer disable any subfolders if present.
- When creating hot folders, it's no longer possible to make a folder both a regular and silent hot folder at the same time. In that rare case, it was not determined which way the hot folder would behave.
Performance Updates
- Searching online for subtitles now happens in the background to save time.
- Dramatically improved processing time when tagging iTunes videos with new metadata, especially for videos on remote disks.
- Improved memory handling when processing images.
- Improved performance when requeueing a large number of videos.
- The welcome wizard will no longer appear unnecessary when upgrading VideoDrive versions.
- Various other performance improvements.
Other Updates
- Added support for HandBrake 0.10.3.
- Instead of generating an error, EyeTV files will now always be handled by Turbo.264 (HD), even when HandBrake is selected as the conversion tool.
- Improved error handling when a file has been deleted by the user before it is imported.
- Clarified message when online searching is limited and fuzzy search is temporarily unavailble: a new message in the activity log appears when this problem occurs.
- Improved detection of duplicate videos.
- Improved error handling when copying/moving files.
- Improved detection of helper applications and clarified warnings.
- Rearranged the File tab of Preferences to clarify some options.
Bug Fixes
- Downloaded subtitles where not included in a video in some configurations.
- The Welcome Wizard would sometimes delete old versions of the component in case it failed to download new versions.
- Fixed the issue where we had too much drama and not enough comedy movies.
- Creating or removing hot folders on OS X El Capitan would fail without any error message.
- Automatic processing of videos would not continue after midnight on some systems - Thanks Andy.
- Improved error handling when third party software is not responding properly.
- Installation files were not properly released after use.
- Ripped DVD's (VIDEO_TS folders) could not to be queued properly.
- Minor issues with the GUI when installing the Subtitles app resolved.
- Checks to verify if queued videos are completely downloaded are now limited to 10 minutes.
- The button to clear the Activity and Error logs works again as expected.
- Removed those annoying red spelling check lines in the logs.

- In some cases, when a corrupt subtitle file was present, no metadata was saved to a video.

- In some rare cases, duplicating an iTunes video could move the original as well.
